“Floating point division by zero” error may appear on student computers at startup, when Net Control 2 service is initializing or when you’re starting a poll, quiz or sending a full screen message to students.
This error may appear in Windows Vista, 7, 8 and higher, when display drivers installed in the system do not comply in full with DirectX 10/11 specification, while any display drivers for these operating systems must comply with it.
Most often this means that you have installed wrong drivers that do not correspond to your chipset.
Solution 1. Visit an official website of the graphics chipset manufacturer for the latest version of the display drivers. You need to know exact name and version of the graphics chipset installed in the system, for example Intel HD Graphics 2000. Please refer to the computer documentation for this information.

Solution 2. For Windows 7 install Service Pack 1 and other necessary updates.
The latests versions of Net Control 2 may require the following updates for Windows 7:
– Service Pack 1 for Windows 7 (KB976932).
– Platform Update for Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (KB2670838).
– For Windows 7 64-bit, Security Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB3033929) may also be necessary.
Solution 3. For NC2 versions prior 11.10:
Disable DirectX 10 hardware acceleration in the teacher/student module settings.
If you have access to the problem student computers remotely from the teacher console:
– in the teacher console select student computers;
– click the main menu command N – Options – Client Options;
– on Commands tab of the appeared Client Configuration window enable (check) “Disable DirectX acceleration” option and click OK.
Additionally, in the teacher console please click the main menu command N – Options – Options; on Advanced Options page enable “Disable DirectX hardware acceleration” option and click OK.
Restart the teacher console and student computers.
